Ana's Quinceañera Web Page
Alternate Title: Welcome Bienvenidos to the First and Only Quinceañera Web Page in Orange County
Description:
This is the "first and only" quinceañera web page in Orange County, California. The quinceañera, the most important birthday for a Latin woman, is celebrated when she turns 15 years old. This page, created by Ana María Serrato, is a collection of information on this Mexican tradition which is celebrated now in parts of Southern California and the US Southwest. The site provides a detailed history of the quinceañera, including a bibliography of references for futher study. It also includes interviews with four women and a priest about the traditional quinceañera. All of the interviews were conducted in 1995, but actually span a much larger amount of time. The first quinceañera discussed took place in 1953, with the most recent taking place in 1995. The site also includes the Spanish lyrics to the most popular quinceañera song.
