A Gallery Exhibition of Contemporary Japanese Calligraphy by Doshu Kanayama

This Website will be an excellent resource for older learners to appreciate the world of Japanese calligraphy. Featuring the works of Doshu Kanayama, a prominent calligrapher (1943-), the site presents images of his works. Each image comes with a short description about the work. The printed version of the characters written (kanji and hiragana) are provided along with the images, so that you can compare the wrritten form and the printed form. To view the printed version, click on "kanji" beside each image. This site is a part of the Huntington Photographic Archive of Buddhist and Related Art at the Ohio State University.
